Written and originally directed by Ted Swindley, ALWAYS... PATSY CLINE is the story of the country music legend as told through the eyes of a Houston housewife who got to know Patsy during her short but amazing career. The show features Patsy's famous tunes such as I Fall To Pieces, Walkin' After Midnight and Crazy.
Patsy Cline is considered by many to be the first female country/pop cross-over artist. Her songs often hitting the top of both charts. Her career was unsteady, her life was filled with tragedy. Surviving illness as a child, she was critically injured twice in car two accidents. She returned to the stage on crutches and with scars on her forehead after the second. She was killed in a 1963 private plane crash along with other famous country musicians from the years of the Grand Ole Opry. They were returning to Nashville after a benefit concert in memory of a popular country music DJ who had been killed earlier in the year.
She is remembered for her booming voice and charming performance style. Patsy Cline's fans are still considerable in number. Newly recorded versions of her famous songs done by today's top country singers keep her memory alive.
